If I.T. guys are their own breed, then SpiceWorld conference is the Westminster Kennel Club. At SpiceWorld, I.T. guys are among their own and party like it. Their acronyms for technology are impenetrable; they glory in their superiority. Into this illicit swag bag, Plantronics wanted to drop some memorable impact for their new cloud-based audio software.

Those of us with only average intelligence might call it “the cloud,” but really it’s “aaS” — a suffix that stands for “as-a-Service” and is all the rage in the industry. By positioning Plantronics-as-a-Service as a part of that (“PaaS”) we proved that they, too, can speak the native language.
